Refund policy

Hey there, Colour Me Kids fam! We hope you’re absolutely loving our products, but if something’s not quite right, don’t worry - we’ve got your back. Check out our playful (but important!) return and refund policy below.


Returns

What’s Eligible?
If your item is still in its original condition, unused, unaltered and rocking its original packaging (that is also in original condition), we’re happy to take it back within seven (7)  days of delivery - following the policy below. Let’s keep things fresh, folks!

Change of Mind? No Problem!
While we don’t offer refunds for those "oops, I’ve changed my mind" moments, we can hook you up with a store credit instead! Just make sure the goodies are in their original condition and returned within seven (7) days of delivery.

Seasonal prints (including Christmas) are excluded from change of mind returns, once the celebration has passed.

Heads up: the store credit will be minus the original shipping cost - and here’s the fine print: sometimes we subsidise shipping, so the cost might be a bit more than what you paid.

Stuff We Can’t Take Back:

Clearance, seconds stock or final sale items (when they’re gone, they’re gone!).

Personalised or custom-made items (they’re one of a kind, just like you!).

Seasonal prints (this includes Christmas) - once the celebration has passed.

Proof of Purchase, Please!
Make sure you have your receipt or order confirmation handy. No receipt, no return!

Shipping Your Return:
Returns are to be shipped at your expense (unless the products are faulty) and must include a signature required. We’re not responsible for any returned items lost in the post. Once we receive your return, we’ll process your refund or store credit once the product has been checked.

Returns/exchanges cannot be made in person, item/s must be shipped to the address provided. An invoice for shipping the exchanged product will be issued once the returned product has passed the return inspection.

When you send your item, please include your contact details, order number, and whether you’d like a refund or store credit. And please, please don’t ship anything back without contacting us first - we’ll guide you through the process!

Oh, and one last thing: we don’t refund original shipping costs. If your items qualified for free shipping, we reserve the right to deduct our shipping costs from any refund due.


Refunds & Replacements

The Inspection Zone:
Once we’ve got your return via post, we’ll give it a once-over and let you know if we’re giving the thumbs-up for a store credit or replacement.

Our Golden Rule:
Got a damaged or faulty item? We’ll replace it faster than a toddler can uncap a marker. But refunds? Nope, we don’t do those - unless the item you originally purchased is no longer in stock.

Shipping Scoop:
Original shipping costs aren’t refundable. That said, if the issue is on us (hello, faulty product), we’ll cover the return shipping. Fair’s fair, right?


Exchanges

Oh no, super keen to add things to your cart and picked the wrong print?

Send us an email at hello@colourmekidsstore within 14 days of delivery (or the date you collected via local pick up) explaining the situation. 

Once your exchange has been given the green light, the product being returned will need to be posted back to us to be inspected. This return shipping cost is at the expense of the customer - be sure to pay for signature on delivery as we're unable to take any responsibility for items lost in the mail. 

Postage of your new item will be at the customers expense - sorry guys, we're a small business and cannot absorb these costs.

Please note that seasonal prints are not able to be exchanged once the celebration has passed - this includes Christmas.


How to Send Stuff Back

  1. Drop our friendly customer service team a line at hello@colourmekidsstore.com.

  2. Tell us your order number, what you’re returning, and why.

  3. Wait for the green light (a.k.a. our approval), then follow the return instructions we send your way. Easy peasy!


What About Damaged or Defective Items?

We’re all about getting it right. If your order shows up looking like it’s had a rough ride, contact us via email at hello@colourmekidsstore.com within seven (7) days of delivery with a description of the issue along with images to support.

Proof of purchase is also required for any returns, be it faulty or change of mind. 

In the unlikely instance that a product has a manufacturing fault, our policy is to replace items. 


Cancellations & Uncollected Orders

We know plans change - it happens! If you need to cancel an order or request a credit due to a change of mind, we’re happy to help where we can 💛

Please note that a 7% administration fee will be deducted from your refund or credit. This reflects the real costs already incurred in preparing your order, including processing time, picking and packing, packaging materials, and getting everything ready for shipping or collection.

This administration fee also applies where an order is cancelled by us due to non-collection. This may occur if a local pick-up order has not been collected within a reasonable timeframe, and we’ve been unable to reach you despite multiple attempts - or where shipping has been offered as an alternative and declined.

This fee applies to change-of-mind and non-collection cancellations only, and is never charged where you are entitled to a full refund under the Consumer Guarantees Act (NZ) or Australian Consumer Law (for example, if an item is faulty or doesn’t meet consumer guarantees).
