What are the cloths made of?

Our cloths are made from 100% cotton twill with a waterproof PUL (polyurethane laminate) backing. This makes them durable, reusable, and easy to clean while protecting your table from spills.

How do they work?

Our cloths are designed to be coloured in using our ultra-washable markers. Once they’ve finished, simply pop it in the wash, hang to dry, and it’s ready to use again. Watch this cool wee video to see it in action!

What kind of markers do I use?

We recommend using our specially designed non-toxic, ultra-washable markers, which are triangular and easier for little hands to hold correctly. These markers have been extensively tested on our cloths, so we KNOW they'll wash out!

How do I clean the cloth?

Machine wash on a warm/hot cycle (30-40°c) and air dry. Avoid bleach or fabric softeners to maintain the waterproof layer.  DO NOT Dry-clean!

Can I put it in the dryer?

No, we do not recommend using the dryer to dry the cloth. We recommend air drying your tablecloth to preserve its quality and waterproof backing.

The ink is still visable after washing?

Try washing again, ensuring it's on a warm/hot (30-40°c) wash, and the cloth isn’t twisted and preventing agitation. If ink remains, lie your cloth out in direct sunlight for an hour or so - the ink is UV sensitive so bleaches out quickly!

Is the cloth safe for children?

Absolutely! Our products are made with child-safe materials, and our markers are non-toxic, making them perfect for little ones over the age of three years to enjoy.

How big are the cloths?

Our standard size tablecloths are 140cm x 180cm and have been designed to fit most dining tables, with a generous size that allows multiple children to colour together.

For toddler tables, simply fold it in half! This also means there are two sides to be coloured - less washing!

Solo Mats are 34 x 45cm and are designed for one (or two!) children to enjoy.

Are the designs still there after washing?

Yes! The printed outline remain fully intact after washing, allowing your child to colour in the same patterns again or experiment with new colours.

Are they environmentally friendly?

Yes! Our reusable colouring-in cloths help reduce paper waste from disposable colouring pages, making them a more sustainable option for creative fun.

Do the tablecloths protect against spills?

Yes! The waterproof PUL backing helps protect your table from spills and messes, making it ideal for mealtime, craft activities, and playtime.

Do the cloths stain over time?

If used with washable markers and cleaned following the care instructions, your tablecloth should remain stain-free. However, prolonged exposure to certain dyes may leave light marks over time.

Food stains? Sorry... we’re good, but we’re not lasagne-proof!

Are there different print options?

Yes! We offer a variety of exclusive designs, including themed patterns, Tablecloths for collaborative options for group colouring, and Solo Mat versions to keep individual kids engaged.

Can I iron my cloth?

On a low heat, you can iron the cloth on the printed side.  Do not iron on the backing side, this will melt the PUL backing!

What if my markers run out?

We sell additional sets of our specially designed non-toxic, ultra-washable markers so kids can keep colouring again and again.

How long will the cloth last?

Our cloths are an investment piece, so with proper care, our tablecloths are designed to last for years, providing endless hours of creative fun and family engagement.

Are the cloths suitable for outdoor use?

Yes! They are great for picnics, BBQs, and outdoor play. The Tablecloth kits come with 4 clips to stop it blowing away in a breeze. Just make sure to bring the cloth inside after use to keep it in top condition.

Are they just for kids?

No way! Our designs are fun for all ages, making them a great interactive activity for family dinners, parties, or even stress-relief colouring for grown-ups.

Can I use permanent markers?

Permanent markers? Only if you’re aiming for a forever masterpiece! They won’t wash out, so if you’d like to keep creating again and again, stick to our Wash-Away markers - they’re made for endless colouring fun.

Where can I buy one?

You can purchase directly from our website, and we also stocked in select retailers. Check out our stockist list to buy in-store.

Keep in mind, not all stockists carry the whole range so it may pay to call ahead if you're after a specific print.

Are the markers environmentally friendly?

Our markers are designed to be long-lasting and reduce paper waste by being used with our reusable colouring-in products. We are committed to creating eco-friendly, reusable solutions for creative play.

They are certified to meet the European standard EN71-3.

How long do the markers last?

With the cap properly replaced after use, the markers should last for many hours of colouring fun. Store them horizontally to keep the ink flowing evenly.

What do I do if the ink has run out?

If a marker dries out, try placing the tip in a small amount of warm water, then standing it upright, then downwards for a few minutes to help revive it. Always cap markers tightly after use.

Can I use the markers on other things?

Yes! They work on most washable and wipeable surfaces - but we always recommend testing on a small inconspicuous area first. Avoid using them on non-washable materials.  On hard, smooth surfaces, a wipe with a damp cloth should remove ink residue.

Are the markers safe for children?

Yes! Our marker inks comply with EN71 Toy Safety Standard.  They are non-toxic (EN71-3) and made with child-safe, ultra-washable ink, ensuring they are safe for little hands to use. If applied directly to skin, it may take a few washes for ink residue to fade. Smudging from colouring tends to wash off straight away!

Will the ink wash out of clothes?

The ink is designed to wash out of most fabrics with a warm/hot wash cycle. For best results, wash clothing as soon as possible after colouring. However, as our markers have only been tested extensively on our tablecloths we are unable to offer any guarantee for ink on clothing or other fabrics and surfaces.

What makes these markers different?

Our Wash Away Markers are ultra-washable, designed to easily wash out of our Washable, Reusable, Waterproof colouring in cloths, and smudges come off children's skin with minimal effort - making them perfect for mess-free colouring fun!  They also feature a triangular barrel, which is ideal for teaching correct pencil grip.

Are the markers suitable for all ages?

We recommend using them with children 3+, as the lid presents a choke risk for younger children.  With an easy-to-grip, triangular barrel perfect for small hands, making them ideal for toddlers and older kids alike.

Will the markers stain skin?

The ink is designed to wash off skin easily. However, if applied directly, it may take a few washes to completely fade. Warm water and soap should help remove any lingering ink

How do I wash my colouring-in cloth?

Your cloth comes with full care instructions in the packaging (and you can peek at them again online anytime here). But here’s the short and sweet version:

Toss it in the washing machine on a warm to hot cycle (30–40°C) with your usual detergent. Make sure it’s not folded up or squished in with a mountain of towels - it needs room to move and groove! Once it’s clean, hang it out to dry in the sunshine and only pack it away when it’s completely dry - no one likes a mouldy masterpiece.

Will the colours REALLY wash out?

Yep! If you use our Wash-Away Markers and follow the care instructions, your cloth should come out good as new every time. Some light tinting can happen over time (especially with darker colours or if left for ages before washing), but that’s part of the fun and proof of many creative adventures!

What if my child spills food on it?

Ah, the joys of mealtimes! Food stains can be a little more stubborn - our cloths are washable, but they’re not magic. Treat food marks as you would any fabric stain: rinse promptly and use a gentle stain remover if needed.

How should I dry and store my cloth?

Air dry it flat or on the line to keep it looking its best. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading. Once it’s dry, fold it up and store it in a Colour Me Kids storage bag or its original gift box - ready for your next round of colouring fun!
